<p>提到多個數位裝置之間的同步工具,很多人大概會立刻想到<a href="http://db.tt/izJVCPxO" target="_blank">DropBox</a>。畢竟成熟穩定的雲端儲存技術加上跨平台的應用工具,使得DropBox簡直就像<a href="http://jas9.blogspot.tw/2013/07/DocoDemoDropBox.html" title="DropBox任意門 - Jas9 Taipei.設計誌" target="_blank">任意門</a>一樣好用。</p>
<p>不過,單就日常某些情境下的使用實態來看,DropBox未必永遠是你最好的選擇,有時候,或許BitTorrent Sync才是。</p>

<p>舉個例子來說,DropBox曾經鼓勵使用者直接把手機裡的照片自動上傳,如果你這麼做的話,DropBox就會免費送你3G的儲存空間。儲存空間變大當然是件好事,不過,隨之而來的問題則是同步時間也拉長了。有時候,你在手機丟一個檔案到DropBox,打開電腦才發現兩三百張照片排在那個你馬上要開來用的檔案前面。</p>
<p>簡單地說,DropBox是一個雲端儲存服務的提供者,所有的同步都必須先上傳到DropBox的伺服器,然後再下載到各個數位裝置。相對地,BitTorrent Sync的同步則完全不需要上傳到雲端,而單純是各個數位裝置之間的檔案對傳。</p>
<p>所以,如果我因為工作需要而在桌機上開始編寫一個網頁或文字檔,離開桌機也希望能夠隨時找到空檔利用身邊的行動裝置來繼續,那麼,或許把檔案丟給BitTorrent Sync來同步會更有效率。</p>
<p>開始使用BitTorrent Sync的步驟大概跟DropBox差不多:</p>
<ol>
<li>到<a href="http://labs.bittorrent.com/experiments/sync.html" title="BitTorrent Labs" target="_blank">BitTorrent Labs</a>去下載並安裝<a href="#" class="jastips">桌機<span>(Desktop)</span></a>版的<a href="#" class="jastips">客戶端<span></span></a>程式,並且依照安裝指示設定妥同步檔案夾。</li>
<li>接著則要為你的行動裝置下載並安裝BitTorrent Sync的同步對應工具,由於目前只有Android版,所以要到Google Play去下載<a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bittorrent.sync" title="BitTorrent® Sync - Google Play Android 應用程式" target="_blank">BitTorrent® Sync</a>,然後同樣也設定妥同步檔案夾。</li>
<li>連結所有想要進行同步的檔案夾:在桌機選定同步檔案夾的Connect mobile選項,生成QR code,接著以行動裝置掃一下QR code就可以抓到同步檔案夾。</li>
</ol>
<p>基本上,BitTorrent Sync的運作邏輯是這樣的:</p>

<li>每一個同步檔案夾都提供兩組Secrets:也就是33個字元的密碼鎖。一組是開放所有開檔編輯刪存的權限(Full access),一組則只能讀取(Read only)。</li>
<li>使用者可以藉由選擇分享哪一組密碼的方式來控制分享權限。</li></ol>
<p>從各項功能上來看,BitTorrent Sync當然很難拿來跟DropBox比,但,它就是一個無須上雲端就能同步多個數位裝置的簡易好用工具,能在日常生活中幫上什麼忙,就看使用者怎麼用了。</p>
